RE: Livewire whips

I think they are.
My buddy just ordered a whip from them and got it in the mail.

RE: Glamis Trailer Storage

I wish I could do that.
I service my buggy and quads after every trip, so that is not a possibility for me.
Every trip? Yikes!
Yep, the buggy gets the oil changed, filters cleaned, front rack greased, all bolts checked every trip.
If I waited till I got out there to do it, I would take 4 hours out of duning time.... don't want to waste that. :)

RE: LT tires for a 5th wheel

Many, many people have switched from ST to LT tires on their trailers. I am one of them.
Michelin XPS Rib. Strongest E rated tire out there. Everyone I know or read about that switched to the Rib is very happy with it. Don't hesitate, make the switch.

RE: Can I tow it?

Will the truck pull it? Yes.
Will the truck pull it and be within the tow ratings of the truck? Nope.
So if you define "legal" as being within the tow ratings of the truck, you won't be legal.
You will go over the GVWR of the truck very easily.
Yes that was the legal I was getting at. Help me to understand this..the door on my truck says the GVWR is 9200 lbs. So that means the truck plus fuel/people/stuff/hitch and trailer "hitch weight" must not exceed the 9200 lbs is that correct(I'm not sure I totally understand this part)? What your saying is I could be over the 9200 becuase you don't think the manufactures hitch weight of 1620 is correct (I;m not doubting it just want to make sure I get what your saying so I can check it?) So, I need to load it up, put in on the scale, and be sure the truck is under 9200 lbs with the 5th wheel attached and loaded?
That is exactly right, you are understanding it just fine so far.
Load it up, take it to a scale and add your truck axle weights together. If you are over 9200lbs, you are over the GVWR of the truck.
I seriously doubt the manufactures hitch weight will be 1620lbs. My manufacture hitch weight was 1800lbs and my real life CAT scale weight was 2600lbs.
Keep us posted.

RE: New tire upgrade

On the wheels, just make sure they are rated for the load you want to carry and the will handle the max psi of the tire.

RE: Raptor 3612 Tire Upgrade

I know I have seen several post on 16" tire and wheel upgrades for the Raptor 3612. I need to get rid of the Carlisle Tires this week as
one of the tires developed a bulge. Any help with tires and wheels
that will fit my 3612 would be great help
FLRaptor,
On this forum, The Escapees forum and all other RV forums That I have researched......the subject of trailer tires occupies more space and topics than any other subject.
It boils down to this....If you want the absolute best trailer tire with the best record and the least amount of reported problems of any kind....install the Michelin XPS LT radial. I have only recently come to this conclusion myself after a near catastrophic experience with a Goodyear G614....which I had believed was in the same class as the XPS. I know better now.
They are not the cheapest but you have already had experience with a brand that is...the Carlisle...and most other ST tires are in the same category.
How much is worry free towing...as far as tires are concerned...worth to you?
How much is worry free towing worth??? Priceless.
Michelin XPS Ribs all the way.
Have been running them for 5 years now. Awesome tires.

RE: I have a 2004 F350. How much toyhauler can I really tow?

It all depends on what you want to go by.... Tow Ratings of the truck, or will the truck tow it?
Will the truck tow a big hauler? Sure it will.
Will the truck tow a big hauler and stay under the tow ratings from Ford? Nope.
I had the same truck.
GVWR is 9900lbs, GCWR is 20,000lbs.
My truck weighed 7500lbs with full fuel and no passengers.
I had a CC, 4X4, PSD short bed.
So, 20000-7500= 12,500lbs available for passengers and trailer.
9900-7500= 2400lbs available for passengers and pin weight.
So, if you go by the tow ratings of the truck, you can't tow that big trailer you are looking at.
In fact, based on the number, you can't tow any big 5er toy hauler out there with a pin weight over 2500lbs.
This is the reason I went to a newer dually.
2005 was a change for Ford, they went to bigger brakes and they upped the tow ratings of their trucks.
Decision is up to you.

RE: New tire upgrade

We have had alot of problems with our Raptor tires. We switched to a 15" 10 ply load range E with 80 psi Carlisles in place of the 15" 8 ply D with 65 psi Missions that came on it. Seems to be much better but I still think next time I need tires I will switch to the 16" rims and tires.
You went to Carlisles??? Oh boy, be careful and keep an eye on them.

RE: What (if any!) toy hauler for full sized pre-runner toy

Lincster, thanks.. that is awesome!
Would your Warrior take a bit more weight on that floor (3000-3500lbs) without any worry?
How does your PSD do pulling that setup? I see that you are down in Mesa.. I am here in the Prescott area. Looking to get a set of paddles for my truck and take her to glamis. Cant wait!
No problem.
I also put 2 quads in the trailer with my rail, so I am at 3500lbs easily. No worries about the floor.
The ramp is rated at 3000lbs, but you probably won't have both axles on the ramp at the same time.
My truck pulls my trailer great. I did step up to a dually from a SRW to pull this much trailer.
I will get a F450 next though, that will give me more margin.
Me and my group are heading to Glamis next weekend. Can't wait.... first trip of the season.

87" wide... that is nothing.
My rail is 95" wide at the widest point.
16' long and weighs 2800lbs.
I put it in my Weekend Warrior no problem. I drive it right in.
